Green Irish Tweed feels like a crisp walk through rain-washed countryside: bright verbena and lemon, cool violet-green air, then polished woods and moss.
This 9.5/10 review reflects Shane Lint's personal wear from a sample, including one deliberately light wrist application. No full retail bottle or bottle atomizer was used; future full-bottle testing may refine the performance notes.
On my skin, Green Irish Tweed is clean and unmistakably masculine without turning harsh or generic. Verbena and lemon make the opening bright and airy, while an iris-like smoothness gives it polish rather than powder.
Creed classifies Green Irish Tweed as an aromatic fougère in the green-and-mossy-woods family. Its current note structure brings peppermint, verbena, lemon, bergamot, and galbanum into the opening; geranium, lavender, and violet through the heart; then sandalwood, cedarwood, ambroxan, and oakmoss at the base. In wear, the cool violet-green character and smooth woods stood out most, with the mossy drydown adding depth without clouding the freshness.
One performance check began at roughly 2:00 p.m. with only a small wrist application from the sample, rather than a normal four-to-six-spray wear. As I moved around and warmed up, the scent seemed to come alive and push outward. At the two-hour mark, there was very little meaningful loss of character.
Across my wears from the sample, I have been stopped repeatedly and asked what I was wearing. Compliments are not a laboratory measurement, but they are meaningful here: Green Irish Tweed manages to remain composed while still being noticed.
At about 11:30 p.m., roughly nine and a half hours after that light application, I could still detect it on my skin, even after a shower. That was not nine and a half hours of full projection, but the persistence from so little product was remarkable.
It feels equally natural with casual clothes, at work, with a suit, or over dinner. What seals the 9.5/10 for me is not performance alone: I kept returning to smell my wrist because I genuinely wanted to experience it again. This was only a sample, but it left me wanting a full bottle so I can properly live with the fragrance.
