The darker set's standout

Flotholt smells like cold ocean air moving across wet wood, weathered leather, salt, and the remains of a fire.

The discovery-set sample featured here was provided to The Oakmoss & Ivy by Fischersund and De Lara Studio for independent editorial consideration. No payment was received. Gifted product does not determine our conclusions, and the brand did not preview or approve the 8.7/10 rating or review.

Fischersund turned out to be one of those houses where testing a fragrance once was not enough. I kept returning to the tins, sometimes several times in the same day, because there was always something strange, atmospheric, or unexpectedly addictive hiding inside them.

Flotholt became the clear standout from the darker discovery set. Sitka spruce and citrus give the opening a cold, bright edge before cypress, salt, and seaweed move the composition toward the sea. Smoke, ambergris, and musk take over gradually, leaving something woody, briny, and quietly animalic.

The house describes the scent through amber, leather, fresh air, seaweed, salt, smoke, and Sitka spruce. That structure explains why it feels so visual. I get cold ocean air, wet timber, leather, and the last warmth of a fire rather than a conventional blue or aquatic fragrance.

The supplied community reference data places Flotholt in woody, marine, smoky, and salty territory. It also suggests roughly six hours of wear with strong sillage. That context supports what I experienced, but my 8.7/10 rating rests on how atmospheric and compelling the fragrance became over repeated wears.

It is strange, somewhat difficult to gender, and incredibly atmospheric. The longer I wore it, the more I liked it. Across my Fischersund testing, these scents also drew a remarkable number of compliments, proving that experimental does not have to mean unapproachable.

No. 23 and No. 54 did not pull me back to the tin with the same insistence, and I am not going to manufacture equal enthusiasm simply because the set was gifted. Flotholt did. At 8.7/10, it is one of the full bottles I would like to add after living with the discovery set.
