Boswellia Scotia was not an immediate love. The sharper elements asked for patience, but the drydown changed everything.
As it settled, Royal Green Hojari frankincense, fir, sandalwood, earthy cypriol, and spice began creating an extraordinarily vivid sense of place. It made me think of being lost somewhere deep inside an ancient Celtic forest.
Not a manicured woodland trail. Something older. Cold air, wet bark, moss-covered stone, resin from trees, and smoke or incense drifting from somewhere I could not quite see.
That atmospheric quality is where Boswellia Scotia succeeds. It does not merely smell woody. It creates the sensation of being surrounded by woods. I would not reach for it as casually as Fantosmia, but the drydown is beautiful and distinctive enough that I kept returning to it.
At 8.5/10, Boswellia Scotia is the most atmospheric fragrance of this Jorum group for me. The opening demanded patience; the drydown completely won me over.
