Spiritcask became clearer once I stopped trying to understand every note and simply wore it.

Spiritcask initially struck me as strange. Once I stopped trying to isolate every material and simply let it develop, its purpose became much clearer.
This is a sweet, woody, boozy fragrance. New make spirit, cognac, rum, pear, maple, vanilla, oak, and warm woods create something immediately seasonal. It feels built for the colder months.
There is richness here without the composition becoming another vanilla gourmand. Leather, cedarwood, oak, whisky lactone, and the alcoholic facets keep enough structure beneath the sweetness to stop it from collapsing into dessert.
A cold evening, a heavy coat, a dim room, and something amber-colored in a glass: that is where Spiritcask makes sense. It grew considerably more enjoyable after the opening settled.
At 8.2/10, Spiritcask is a very good seasonal fragrance and the easiest Jorum selection for me to imagine reaching for when autumn turns cold.
